[Katsura Library]The change of service measures to prevent spread of the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19)

The opening hours and services are as follows from April, 2023.
Please note the following precautions to prevent the spread of infection.

Current Library Hours

  • Opening hours are 9: 00 -21: 00 on weekdays. 
  • The hours of services provided at the counter are as follows. ( will also be accepted by e-mail or form).

    • 9:00 - 20:30 Reception for the Group Study Rooms Application Form
                 Reception for the Theater Room Application Form
                 Retrieval service (library staff pickup the materials from the Stack Rooms)
    • 9:00 - 20:45 Use of the Group Study Rooms and the Theater Room  
  • If you apply for today's use of the Group Study Rooms and the Theater Room after 17:00, we accept it only at the Information desk.
  • You cannot enter from the first floor from 17:00 - 21:00. Please enter through the IC certification door on the second floor. Please don't forget to bring your IC card when you enter or leave.
  • Library card will be issued to those who have a status on campus and do not have an IC card. Go to "Applying for a Library Card" page for details.
  • Non-Kyoto University Members cannot use the library after 17:00. Go to "Service Guide for non-KU users" page for details.

  • Please read your student ID card or IC authentication card when entering or leaving the library.
  • We ask those with the following symptoms to refrain from visiting the library.
         The symptoms : Fever, Cough, Sneezing and Fatigue

Check out, Return 

  • Kyoto University members can borrow books.
  • You can place a hold request on items held in Katsura Library.
    Please make a request by clicking the “Reserve” button on KULINE.
    Go to "Place a Hold Service" page for details.
  • Please use the return box next to the main gate on the 2nd floor. You can use return box even if the library is open.
  • Materials can be returned by postal mail or other delivery services if they are packed appropriately so that they are not damaged in transit.(Users are to pay the delivery fee.)
  • Please use MyKULINE to extend the borrowing period.

Copy of Library Materials

The borrowing prohibited materials(journals, reference books, etc.) will be provided in PDF file free of charge using EDDS (Up to 3 items per person per day). If the materials is not prohibited from lending, please borrow them.

Attention

  • The EDDS service is usually limited to public expense and charged.
  • The PDF file is only available on campus network for two weeks.
  • You cannot save PDFs to your PC, etc.
  • Only single copy can be printed for personal use.
  • Please use the service in compliance with copyright laws.
