[Caution: Database (JapanKnowledge Lib)] Stop the browser's prefetch function

There have been frequent recent occurrences of users unintentionally downloading or accessing large volumes of data using pre-read browser functions.

The following actions are prohibited by the terms of use.

  • Accessing large amount of data in a short period of time
  • Downloading large amount of data in a short period of time
  • Usage beyond the private purpose
  • Reproducing and distributing

Large volume data downloads or large volume access of which the user is unaware may occur, even if the user intends to use electronic journals in the standard way.
Violation of the terms of use may result in restrictions on the use of the entire Kyoto University.

We request your cooperation in disabling these functions by making the below changes to your browser settings.

  • Microsoft Edge:
    1. Go to “Settings” – “Cookies and site permissions” and click “manage and delete cookies and site data.” 
    2. Turn off  “Preload pages for faster browsing and searching.”
  • Google Chrome:
    1. On the upper right of the screen, click the settings icon "" and “Settings.”
    2. In Privacy and Security, select “Cookies and other site data” and turn off “Preload pages for faster browsing and searching.”
  • Safari (Mac):
    1. From “Safari” on the menu bar, click “Preferences.”
    2. Click “Search” tab and uncheck “Preload Top Hits in the Background.”
