Advance Application

Advance application is not required. Please come to the counter to complete the admission procedures.
If you have decided which material you wish to use, please apply from the form below in advance to make the process smoother.

※If you belong to a university or research institution, please apply from the form below through the library of your institution.

Application form for visitors (Katsura)

Notes

• Materials can be searched through KULINE (Kyoto University Libraries Online Catalog).
• Please be sure to inquire in advance if the "Status" column in KULINE is labeled "Lab". We will reply after confirming the availability of the material with the laboratory. In principle, if the material is available from other institutions in Japan, we do not provide our copy currently in use at the laboratory.

Admission Procedure

• Please bring the following items.
  • Your ID (student ID, driver's license, etc.)
  • Our response to your application (E-mail screen or printout)
    ※Only in the case of advance application
• Please fill in the "Application Form" (available at the library).
• We will keep your ID while you are using the materials.

Hours

Weekdays, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm
※Applications for electronic resource copies will be accepted until 4:30 pm.

1. Browsing and photocopying materials
2. Browsing and copying electronic resources (electronic journals, databases, etc.)
3. Visiting exhibits in the library

Photocopying Materials

The following copies are available in the library. 
When making photocopies, please fill out the necessary information on the application form next to the copy machine and put it in the box.
Price: black & white 10 yen/printed side, color 50 yen/printed side

• Coin-operated copy machine
  • You can make photocopies within the scope of copyright law. (You cannot make photocopies of your own materials.)
  • Coins and 1,000 yen bills can be used. 
  • You cannot use new 500 yen coins (issued in October 2021), new 1,000 yen bills (issued in July 2024), and Co-op prepaid copy cards.
  • Currency exchange is unavailable.
• Electronic resources
  • You can print within the scope of the terms of use. Please inquire at the counter for details.
  • Please pay at the coin-operated copy machine.

Advance Application

Advance application is required. Please provide us with the title of the material you would like to request by filling out the form below. After confirming your application and placing holds on the requested materials, we will contact you by email.

Notes

• Use of the reading room for self-study is not permitted.
• Photocopying is not available in the North/South Library. Library materials can be temporarily taken out from the libraries, so please use photocopy machines at the Co-op Clock Tower Shop Copy Corner or other locations.
• Browsing and copying of electronic resources (electronic journals, databases, etc.) are not available.
