• KU Libraries Online Catalog (KULINE)
  You can search KULINE to find books, journals, and e-books/journals held in the KU Libraries. If you are a member of Kyoto University, you can access e-journals/books using KULINE [Access via the Authentication System].

Search the collections of libraries in Japan

• CiNii Books
  You can search CiNii Books to find resources held in academic and research libraries throughout Japan.
• Help - To master CiNii Books
• In the Advanced Search, after entering the title, etc., specify the area as "Kyoto" to limit your search to books held in university libraries in Kyoto Prefecture.

• NDL Search
  You can search the collections of the National Diet Library (including doctoral dissertations) and digital materials, and request photocopies without visiting the library and receive them by courier or postal mail in a paid service (Remote photoduplication service). You can also search the collections of libraries across Japan that are linked to the National Diet Library.
• Calil: Japan’s biggest library searching site [in Japanese]
  Calil offers a search of the holdings and borrowing status of university libraries, public libraries, and specialized libraries throughout Japan. The service includes functions such as "Recipe," which recommends books that you may be interested in, "The hottest books," "Library Map," which searches for nearby libraries, and "Want to Read List," which allows you to make a list of books you are interested in.
• Kyoto Prefecture Libraries Union Catalog?[in Japanese]
  Provided by Kyoto Prefectural Library. You can search for books, journals, and newspapers held in any of the public libraries in Kyoto Prefecture.

• Academic Libraries on the Web
  Provided by the Tokyo Institute of Technology Library.?This site collects and provides URLs of university libraries' websites in Japan.

Search the collections of libraries abroad

• WorldCat
  A comprehensive catalog of libraries around the world. You can search a wide variety of materials including books, journals, articles, and internet resources.
• BnF catalogue general
  You can search the majority of references and documents conserved on all the Bibliotheque nationale de France (BnF) sites.
• Explore the British Library
  You can search the collection of the British Library, the national library of the United Kingdom.
  The data has not been updated since April 2023 (as of April 2024) due to a cyber attack.
• Katalog der Deutschen Nationalbibliothek
  You can Search the Deutsche Nationalbibliothek (DNB) collection of books, newspapers, journals, music scores, digital collections, maps, and special collections.
• Library of Congress Catalog
  You can search over 20 million items (books, periodicals, manuscripts, maps, music scores, sound recordings, images, and electronic resources) held by the Library of Congress.
