[Important] KULINE (KU Libraries Catalog) will be renewed in August 2023 [update: July 19]

In August 2023, we plan to renew KULINE, the Kyoto University library search system, in conjunction with the complete system update of the library system.

Renewal Information

KULINE smartphone app and mobile KULINE will be unavailable

We will stop providing the KULINE app "Ufinity" at Kyoto University and
the mobile KULINE.

Suspension of MyKULINE (Aug. 7 - 20)

MyKULINE will be suspended from August 7 to 20, 2023.

During this period, you will not be able to log in to MyKULINE and apply for renew, reserve, copy request, loan request, purchase request, etc.

*You will be able to search for books and journals during the above period.

Suspension of ILL service

Due to the renewal of the library system, interlibrary loan service will be temporarily suspended.

Application deadline

  • from other universities/institutions: Fri, July 21
  • from other KU campus: Mon, July 31

If you apply after the day of the application deadline, books and photocopies will be delivered after Mon. August 21 at the earliest, as the library system will be stopped.

Some records will not be transferred after renewal. Please make your own backup in advance.

  • Borrowing histroy
  • Bookmark that change their URL (some Ebooks, Ejournals, etc.)

Records will be transferred

  • Reservation
  • Copy request
  • Loan request
    *The hisotory of Inter-Campus Loan will be transferred to the reservation records.
  • Purchase request
  • Bookmark whose URL does not change (Books, Serialss, some Ebooks, Dissertations, Rare Books, etc.)
  • New arrival alert

We will post it at a later date.

Future Plans

We will strive to make our search system more user-friendly than ever, for example by supporting responsive design.
The screen structure is expected to be easier to read on a smartphone.
