[Yoshida 2 Libraries] Welcome to North/South Library of Yoshida Campus!

There are about 40 libraries in Kyoto University, of which about 30 libraries are located in Yoshida Campus, such as the Main Library and Yoshida-South Library. Among them, the Engineering North Library and Engineering South Library can support study and research in cooperation with Katsura Library as a home library for Faculty of Engineering students.

North Learning Commons/South Learning Commons

The North and South Learning Commons opened in May 2022 as spaces for self-study, group study and discussion. No reservation is required, so please feel free to use them.

How to Search Books/Journals

You can search books, journals and e-resources (e-journals/e-books) held by Kyoto University on KULINE. When searching for books, please be sure to check “holding library”, “location” and “call no.”. If the books are not available at the libraries located in Yoshida Campus, it is possible to request them from other campuses, such as Katsura, Uji, etc.

Place a Hold Service

You can place a hold request on items held in the North/South Library and Katsura Library. Apply for the service through the “Reserve” button on KULINE (ECS-ID is required). Even if the item is not on loan, you can make a request.

MyKULINE (Book Renewal/Book Reservation)

MyKULINE is an online service where you can extend the loan period, make reservations, and request Interlibrary Loans (ECS-ID is required).

How to Use E-Resources

In order to access e-resources subscribed to by Kyoto University, it is necessary to set up the e-Resources Authentication System on your PC, smartphone or tablet. Agreement procedure is required only for the first time (ECS-ID is required).

With the authentication system, you can use the system not only on campus, but also from off-campus environments such as home.
