For Librarians of Other Institutions

  • Please apply from the application form of the library your patron wishes to visit.
    If it is difficult to apply using the form, faxes are also accepted.
  • Visitors can also use the libraries without a letter of introduction.

Advance Application

Advance application is not required. Please come to the counter to complete the admission procedures.
If you have decided which material you wish to use, please apply from the form below in advance to make the process smoother.

※If you belong to a university or research institution, please apply from the form below through the library of your institution.

Notes

  • Materials can be searched through KULINE (Kyoto University Libraries Online Catalog).
  • Please be sure to inquire in advance if the "Status" column in KULINE is labeled "Lab". We will reply after confirming the availability of the material with the laboratory. In principle, if the material is available from other institutions in Japan, we do not provide our copy currently in use at the laboratory.

Admission Procedure

  • Please bring the following items.
    • Your ID (student ID, driver's license, etc.)
    • Our response to your application (E-mail screen or printout)
      ※Only in the case of advance application
  • Please fill in the "Application Form" (available at the library).
  • We will keep your ID while you are using the materials.

Hours

Weekdays, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm

Service

  1. Browsing materials
  2. Browsing electronic resources (electronic journals, databases, etc.)
  3. Visiting exhibits in the library

Notes

There are no copy machines in Katsura Library available for use by non-KU users.
If you need copies of library materials or electronic resources, please request them through a nearby public library or the library of your affiliated institution.

  • Use of the reading room for self-study is not permitted.
