We offer various various facilities and services to support your studies and research.
If you have trouble  finding resources or writing reports and papers, please feel free to ask us for assistance.

Opening hours

Weekdays: 9:00 AM - 9:00 PM 
※IC card is required for entry and exit after 5:00 PM. For more details, please refer to "To enter and leave from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m."

Group Study Rooms

Spaces for group study and discussion. (Reservation required)
These rooms can also be used for attending online lectures or meetings that require speaking.

Theater Room

A Space for viewing video materials. (Reservation required)
Equipped with soundproofing and an 85-inch 4K TV for watching Blu-rays and DVDs.
From Monday, April 6 to Friday, April 10, 11:00 AM - 2:00 PM, you can visit Theater Room without a reservation! Please come directly to the Theater Room on the 1st floor.  

Open Lab &  Research Commons

A space designed to foster interaction among researchers, stimulate students' intellectual pursuits, and facilitate collaboration with researchers beyond the university.
Equipped with movable whiteboards, tables, and a projector, it can be used for group work, discussions, or as a venue for academic conferences and poster presentations.  

Media Creation Room

A place to support the creation of research and educational content. (Reservation required)
We provide equipment for video shooting, editing and graphic design. 
Equipment rental is also available.
We are holding tours from Monday, April 6 and Friday, April 10, 11:00 AM - 2:00 PM! No reservation is required. Please ask at the Information Desk on the 2nd floor if you would like to participate.

Search for Books and Journals

KULINE

KULINE is a search system for books, journals, e-journals, and e-books held by Kyoto University. By logging in with your ECS-ID, you can renew loan periods, reserve books, and request books from other libraries.

Request books and Photocopies (Interlibrary/Intercampus)

You can request books and photocopies from other campuses.
If the material is not available within Kyoto University, you can also request it from other institutions.

How to Use E-Resources

To access e-journals (approx. 50,000 titles), e-books (approx. 70,000 titles), and databases (approx. 100) subscribed to by Kyoto University, you must set up an authentication system (bookmarklet) on your PC, smartphone, or tablet.  (You need to agree to the agreement of the authentication system at the first time. ECS-ID is required.)

Once set up, you can access e-resources from home or other off-campus locations.

"Katsura-no-Niwa" : Catalogue for Advanced Research of Graduate School of Engineering

This project introduces the diverse research at the Graduate School of Engineering and the Faculty of Engineering.
By revealing what goes on behind the closed doors of laboratories, this project introduces the 'Seeds of Katsura'—innovative research destined to flourish within society.

In addition to the exhibition booths inside Katsura Library, YouTube channel features interviews with researchers and students, as well as videos of on-campus experiments. Please take a look!
